Independent singer songwriter & visual artist.  Spent the last 2 years to get my EP out & it is finally done but it cannot remain where it is.  I need to launch it.

Independent singer songwriter and visual artist.  What does that mean to me?  It means I spent almost every waking hour of my day creating, thinking of creating or making sure the creative process is complete so that I can (and I often do) move on to the next creative venture almost immediately.  I have always loved singing and art and have never let go of the dream of wanting to make an studio album that would allow me to express myself in ways that my visual art could never.  Having done the club and pub circuit for years, I guess I have to take it to the next level.  Its a natural progression to WANT TO GET BETTER.  If you were a professional you'd probably get your Masters or PHD, me, I am starting out pretty late but better late than never and here I am.  This album has been five years in the making.  It started out with the writing of songs (over 7 years) and then finally the bringing of it to 'life' before taking it to the studio.  Like all stories, I hit several dead ends that almost made me want to throw in the towel...but I persevered because I told myself "not to give up and that there must be a reason for everything".  By the time it hit the studio (real time), I realised my financial resources were very limited but I decided to pursue this and with luck (yes, it really was good GOOD luck), I found the right people to work with. So here I am with the finished product but without the resources to launch it.  The point is to NOT WAIT too long before the album gets launched.  The sooner the better and I hope that this could happen sometime late December or sometime in January.  Everything depends on the booking of the venue and the availabilty of the musicians I plan to use for the launch.

NOTE: As I started writing this, I received news that my song was selected to play on WOSRadio. Women of Substance Radio, Los Angeles, California.  The owner, hand picked two of my songs to air on their show today 2nd November 2015 (our time, 6am 3rd November). The second song will debut three weeks later.  Currently the first song will be played on every weekday for one week and then go into rotation.  

Back to the topic:

The money made through this crowd funding will cover:

• Venue
• Band
• Pays for studio practice time for the band to get their act together for the launch
• Audio/Visual Equipment
• Soundman/DJ ( we gotta have music playing all the time)
• Professional photographer/cameraman/woman
• Banners/buntings/advertising (if necessary)
• Food
• Drinks
• Invitations to press etc
• Printing of CD's (i'll go for the bare minimum of 1000 copies)
• * Merchandise (t shirts ) if there are extra funds

I guess the main obstacle I would have once this project is completed would be the selling of CD's and MARKETING!! Although I would (and I never say NEVER), try my hardest to market myself, the truth is my resources are very limited but again, I NEVER SAY NEVER and I have made it this far.
